"Giving an open-ended task is always an interesting issue for teachers. There is a risk involved. Will the students run with the task? Will they stay on track? Will they handle the technology or be distracted by it?"

I often hear of stories where students have a preferred app for a particular task.  Learning activities should be inclusive of this approach as it enables student engagement, which as this author says 'cant be a bad thing'.

I liked what this had to say about how the use of iPads really does get the students to be more engaged in learning. Whether it makes a huge difference in test scores or not it is still a huge accomplishment to have your students engaged and interested in learning.
