Thanks for sharing Shannon! Survey's can be used for so many tasks in the classroom from asking for feedback through to researching an assessment.
Emma Thomas's curator insight, May 31, 2020 4:26 PM
I could use survey monkey or any questionnaire tool in my classroom for so many tasks! For example, I could use it to receive feedback from my students about their lessons or they could use it themselves to obtain primary research information for assessments.

Jeopardy Rocks Now As Factile - Jeopardy & Flashcards

Jeopardy Rocks Now As Factile - Jeopardy & Flashcards | Distance Learning, mLearning, Digital Education, Technology | Scoop.it
A couple of years ago I featured Jeopardy Rocks. Recently, Jeopardy Rocks changed its name to Factile and added some more features.

At its core Factile is a free platform for creating Jeopardy-style game boards to use in your classroom. Factile lets you create games and save them in your account to use whenever you need them. When you create your game you can include images in the answer display. One of the new features is a gallery of templates for creating games. You can browse the template gallery and make copies of the ones that you want to use in your classroom.

Engaging students in Online Courses: Adding experiential to asynchrony

Engaging students in Online Courses: Adding experiential to asynchrony | Distance Learning, mLearning, Digital Education, Technology | Scoop.it
Teaching online is a unique experience for faculty and students. Although I love the online environment for some courses, it does present its own challenges. One of those challenges is how to engage online students in activities that push them to go beyond simply reading, interpreting, and interacting. After all, the idea (in most cases) is that the student can apply their learning, knowledge, and skills in their respective fields of study. As such, we are constantly seeking ways to engage students in learning that goes beyond the “click-through” material.

In this article, I share a few ideas—starting with the simplest and working through some more complicated endeavors—that may assist you in bringing more engagement to your online classroom.

Yes, students should be collaborating. G Suite is designed around collaboration so this makes students working together a lot easier. Weirdly, Google Classroom is not designed for group work. So we have to hack it. Students can not turn in work they do not own. Also, I don’t want the same thing submitted four times, I want it once. Here are some hacks for you to consider:
