Move Over STEM: Why SHAPE Skills Will Add True Value To Tomorrow’s Workforce | Educational Leadership | Scoop.it
In June, three influential academic institutions in the U.K. - the British Academy, the Arts Council, the Academy of Social Sciences and the London School of Economics - launched a campaign to celebrate the value of non-STEM disciplines. Under the acronym SHAPE,  they’re championing the power of social sciences, humanities, the arts for people and the economy.

“SHAPE is a new collective name for those subjects that help us understand ourselves, others and the human world around us,” they write. “They provide us with the methods and forms of expression we need to build better, deeper, more colourful and more valuable lives for all.”
