There has been an alarming increase in tongue cancer cases in younger Australians – including many women who have never smoked or drunk heavily – and health experts don’t know what is causing it.

The rise in oral cancers has prompted the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and Dental Health Services Victoria to roll out training to help health professionals detect the disease earlier.
