The Student Voice

I should not have to pen this opinion piece. Not in modern Australia. But here I am, a student, writing an open letter to a group of adults.

We spoke to a number of young LGBTIQA+ people from all over Australia and from a variety of cultural backgrounds about their experiences during the pandemic.

A recent report shows alarming rates of homophobic language used in Australian schools. And worse, it shows that, at least from the perspective of students, teachers rarely intervene.
